I had to uninstall/reinstall to get RTS to work. It shows .15 now.
01-29-2013 09:06:51
BruceB_RR
Version number?
01-29-2013 09:19:10

Getting Error on upgrade, same issue as last build
good morning :)
01-29-2013 09:21:04
BruceB_RR
Yeah, updater is fubar again, but uninstall and get it from ProdigioRTS, They did fix the RTS problem.
Good Morning :)

I reinstalled the file I had from the download last week but it now reads 5.0.15
Seems to be ook
ok
01-29-2013 09:26:46
BruceB_RR
interesting, the installer from that verstion must have been good. I wonder what tail they are chasing looking for this issue.
01-29-2013 09:32:11
steve
Seems to be working again. This platform is fast
01-29-2013 09:34:50
BruceB_RR
This is starting to feel like we are getting some where now! :)
01-29-2013 09:38:42
steve
I can tell you that the team is really putting in the effort, and it shows
01-29-2013 09:40:53

It closed a trade for a profit that has been held for a few days :)
01-29-2013 09:42:09
steve
Do you know where the Strategies folder is located?
01-29-2013 09:42:25
cosmo
We may be there on order management...another one just closed.
01-29-2013 09:55:25

how's everyone's TO doing today?
it looks like my "Today Between" node isn't working. I got like 75 hits at the open today, even though all strats are set to run between 10:30 - 15:01 only
01-29-2013 09:56:44
BruceB_RR
Are they daily OHLC's
01-29-2013 09:57:37
timtom
2-min
Im actually getting hits on everyone of my "My Stocks", every minute
01-29-2013 09:58:23
cosmo
Lots in TO today...sell side of strats only though
01-29-2013 09:58:54
timtom
ha, I'm getting Buy and Sell hits on the same name, at the same time, at the same price
something has gone awry...
ahhh I'll bet it's catching my exit rule and using it before my entry. I have a generic "always true" rule for exit
kinda thought they fixed that already
01-29-2013 10:03:49
steve
whats the difference between RTS Strategies and TradeOptics?
01-29-2013 10:04:02
cosmo
That is like where you set a target and a stop at zero so you could just see the entry points
In 4.0
01-29-2013 10:05:56
BruceB_RR
TO is a live scanner, doesn't atcually buy or sell but tells you when your strategies fire. RTS is the actual buy and sell (paper only for now) stocks in your portfolio.
01-29-2013 10:06:31
timtom
I usually just run the same strats in both to see what gets hit and when, then I let RTS manage the positions. And TO will also show where the rule triggered, but maybe your money management rules didn't let you enter that position
Im going to have to remove exits from a couple rules to get them to work right in TO though
01-29-2013 10:07:51
steve
So once I set up strats to fire in RTS, They will show up in TO when they do?
01-29-2013 10:08:50
BruceB_RR
They need to be active in both areas, You can run the same or different in both.
01-29-2013 10:10:29
steve
So im thinking that TO is good for testing a strat before committing to RTS
01-29-2013 10:10:50
BruceB_RR
That is how I work it :)
01-29-2013 10:11:31
steve
ok, im new to this :)
01-29-2013 10:41:11
cosmo
RTS is taking on new trades.
01-29-2013 10:42:45
BruceB_RR
I dumped all of my previous trades and started fresh after update. already up $200
on seven new positions
01-29-2013 10:49:49
timtom
nice
you know another feature I'd like to see? an audible alarm or beep of some sort when strats get hit in TO
01-29-2013 10:51:03
cosmo
Looks like it still wants to push higher before rolling over. 1506 would be the upside target.
On /ES

anyone having issues with quotes not loading?
01-29-2013 11:34:48
BruceB_RR
Not loading from where?
01-29-2013 11:35:13
Door
nvm.. my internet just sucks lol
01-29-2013 11:37:10
BruceB_RR
like a vacume, sucks so hard it is keeping the quotes from loading ;)
01-29-2013 12:22:52
steve
If I edit a rule in a working strategy do I need to remove the strat from TO and readd or do the changes take effect immediately?
01-29-2013 12:26:54
BruceB_RR
Yes, you do need to remove the rule from TO and then add it back in.
The rules in TO and RTS are a Copy that gets sent to the servers. So you need to put up a new copy of the new version.
01-29-2013 12:28:58
steve
thanks
Do I need to resave the strats as well?
beform putting them up?
01-29-2013 12:33:13
BruceB_RR
Yes, they would need to be saved from SB first if that is what you mean.
But you would also have had to save it inorder to backtest it.
01-29-2013 12:41:27
steve
thanks
01-29-2013 12:41:48
BruceB_RR
Your welcome.
01-29-2013 12:51:15
steve
trying to figure why stratsd are not firing
01-29-2013 12:55:06
BruceB_RR
In TO or RTS?
01-29-2013 12:55:27
steve
TO
is the window suppose to switch when WL when you want to open strat to take a look?
01-29-2013 12:57:48
BruceB_RR
Not sure what you mean?
01-29-2013 12:59:05
steve
From the edit stat box you can select a strat and open it
I thought it should take you to Wizard Lab
01-29-2013 01:00:26
Door
anyone having progress when running a back test? my backtests just sit at 0%
01-29-2013 01:01:18
BruceB_RR
No, I don't see a place to do that. Edit strategies is just add or remove from server.
Hmmm, may be seeing the same Door.

My TO and RTS strats are not firing. I should have had several positions open over the past two hours. Worked great for the first 30 to 60 mins. I set up my scan/exit rules as columns on the Quotes page for my benchmark. They are showing yellow squares when an entry or exit is detected. However these hits are not being realized in RTS or TO.
01-29-2013 01:05:19
steve
Hi Mid, mine arent firing either. I may just create a simple buy rule and test
01-29-2013 01:05:56
Midwest_Trader
I am also getting the same issue mentioned by Door. Submitted but at 0%. Clicked the Stop button, but it still shows the spinner running.
01-29-2013 01:07:01
steve
im going to try to run a scan
01-29-2013 01:07:04
Midwest_Trader
Steve: do you use your rules in the Quotes tab? Just another way to see if any of the server mechanics are working.
01-29-2013 01:07:30
steve
i am new to this
is it easy to implement? ill try it
01-29-2013 01:08:04
BruceB_RR
I'm getting TO hits.
I just manualy closed a couple of positions, and got a new fill there also.
01-29-2013 01:11:07

RR: did you reset your account balance this morning?
01-29-2013 01:11:16
BruceB_RR
sent Mike a text to see if back testing is down.
01-29-2013 01:11:21
Midwest_Trader
Just wondering if that cleared the decks for your stuff to run correctly.
01-29-2013 01:11:31
BruceB_RR
No, just manually sold everything.

iI added rule to column
yellow bars?
01-29-2013 01:12:23
Midwest_Trader
Steve: If the rule criteria is met, the square changes from red to yelloe
01-29-2013 01:12:25
steve
3 red bars 1 green bar :)
01-29-2013 01:12:28
Midwest_Trader
yellow
01-29-2013 01:12:30
BruceB_RR
Bars will turn green when fired
01-29-2013 01:12:30
steve
what does that mean?
01-29-2013 01:12:40
Midwest_Trader
green I mean...
Whatever the bar interval you have in your rule, when the box turns from red to green, criteria has been met during that period
01-29-2013 01:13:48
steve
thanks for the info, pretty cool
01-29-2013 01:13:51
BruceB_RR
the bars mark time, left to right/ right to left, I forget which direction at the moment.
01-29-2013 01:15:18
Midwest_Trader
I would like to have an overview of their server architecture to understand better what does backtest vs what does TO vs what does RTS vs what drives the rules as columns in Quotes.

Midwest_Trader
Steve, based on the image you posted, your criteria was just met for that equity
01-29-2013 01:16:41
steve
does that mean rule is ok or can be interpretted by Pridigio?
01-29-2013 01:17:58
Midwest_Trader
Just means your rule's criteria was met.
01-29-2013 01:18:06

ha, back test stalled at 87.5%
01-29-2013 01:18:25

Stepping away for a few.
01-29-2013 01:23:38
Door
yeah mine stalled at 50 lol
% that is.. thing has been trying to test a week for about 30 mintues now. I dont think its working
Thanks for checking tho RR
01-29-2013 01:25:28
BruceB_RR
I did a couple of back tests earlier so I know it works in this update. It must be on their end.
01-29-2013 01:28:29
Door
yes i was using it for about 2 hrs after open.. then it just stopped
my rts triggers arent firing either
01-29-2013 01:29:20
steve
my rules are complicated
I have an Entry, Stop, Target rule for buy strat, and a Entry, Stop, Target for Sell strat = Pairs trading
01-29-2013 01:31:17
BruceB_RR
Just got back test results. :)
01-29-2013 01:31:36
steve
Each strat is assigned one equity
01-29-2013 01:36:14
BruceB_RR
Go into the Prebuilt strategy rules in the Template folder and open "Sentiment Zone Long.t"
01-29-2013 01:40:47
steve
that is a compicated strat
01-29-2013 01:40:59
BruceB_RR
LOL
01-29-2013 01:43:04
steve
In TO is the expectation that when a strat fires off it moves to the pane below?
01-29-2013 01:44:32
BruceB_RR
You should get a signal when it fires in the bottom window, yes.
01-29-2013 01:47:09
steve
thanks, I am hoping I can do pairs trading. both the buy and sell need to fire off at the same time. Doesnt look like it fired eventhough entry was hit
Found out that 2 OHLC Single OHLC work in same strat
01-29-2013 02:15:48
BruceB_RR
I think the only way to be sure is if you can enter with your rule or if the other symbol has filled. But that will need to be able to check for a existing position.
Cool, that is good to know.
01-29-2013 02:52:28
steve
the strat is one equity minus the other, with an Entry (constant) = spread
01-29-2013 02:57:04
BruceB_RR
Right, I was just saying that for the time being, you will not know for sure that the other position filled for sure. Something that we have been asking for is the ability to test things with rules about our current positions. Time entered, entered price, number of shares, etc. Once we have that you could add a test to your rules to see it the other position has filled, if so then fill this one too.
it = if
Would make it more bullet proof.
01-29-2013 02:59:27
steve
That would be very helpful

RR - I'm reviewing Mobius' calculation for MACD on his MACD_Colored_Bars_With_RSI_Signal and his MACD is showing different results than the MACD in ToS.
I guess Mobius set up his MACD calculations differently?
Okay, I think he's calculating the ExpAvg of the fast minus the slow length as opposed to how ToS is calculating it ...
I was just curious.
01-29-2013 08:08:22
BruceB_RR
Hey Pm, did you see this article that Mobius did. He talks about the differences that he found in TOS and the math.
http://rr-corner.squarespace.com/mobius-cave/2012/3/21/macd-by-the-numbers.html
and here I did a math solution to a MACD Histogram.
http://rr-corner.squarespace.com/advanced-manual/2011/11/11/macd-historgram.html
In example 2
01-29-2013 08:18:10
Praying_Mantis
ah, thanks!!
so, in essence both yours and Mobius' solutions are the 'correct' MACD as opposed to ToS'!
01-29-2013 08:40:37
BruceB_RR
I don't remember what the difference ended up being but, seems like they were using a SMA instead. On that last page there is a link to a wikipedia article that describes the math behind the indicator.
01-29-2013 08:43:50
Praying_Mantis
Tonight I'm tired and lazy, so I'll leave the math for MACD for tomorrow and rely on the Prod/ToS for now - he! Any opinion on AXP??
I see this stock has lagged behind and is considered oversold according to scan using Stochastic slow
01-29-2013 08:46:41
BruceB_RR
Looks like it has a gap to fill in either direction. :)
01-29-2013 08:47:50
Praying_Mantis
yeah, but I'm leaning long here so...I see V and MA are following suit
AXP seems to be the leader this time
as for the market in general I'm with every other chart trader - overbought...
but that's not to say it can't go higher...
01-29-2013 08:50:28
BruceB_RR
LOL, let the chips fall where they may, we'll just try and pick out the pieces.
I have to run and get something for dinner. Have a good evening.
01-29-2013 08:51:29
Praying_Mantis
you too.
